MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Capstone Communities celebrated the opening of The Cottages at Myrtle Beach, a low-density multifamily development within the Carolina Forest community. On June 21, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held with speakers from Capstone Communities, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Myrtle Beach, followed by a reception in the clubhouse.
The Cottages at Myrtle Beach caters primarily to young professionals, empty nesters and those transitioning to the Myrtle Beach area looking to rent instead of buy.
“The Cottages is a great addition to our rapidly growing community, especially for those who want to live in a home but aren’t ready to buy in today’s economy,” said Shannon Furtick, business development services manager for Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “The Cottages is situated in a great location along Highway 31 for residents to easily access what they need, whether commuting to work, grocery shopping or meeting friends at local restaurants.”
Located on approximately 30 acres, the 294-unit development includes a 24-hour clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, a resort-style pool, sidewalks, pocket parks and other pedestrian-friendly amenities that will create a true sense of place for its residents.
“Our goal is to meet the needs of Myrtle Beach renters and build a sense of community that you can’t typically find in an apartment setting,” said Davis Maxwell, vice president – development for Capstone Communities. “The Cottages will provide residents the space and privacy of a home with the amenities and convenience of a traditional apartment.”
The community features a mix of one, two and three-bedroom cottages, each with its own private fenced yard, as well as one-bedroom lofts and carriage units.
Nequette Architecture & Design was the lead architect, and CBI Construction Services was the general contractor. Capstone Properties, Capstone’s in-house management division, has begun leasing.
