ATLANTA – Inspire Atlanta, a 239-unit student housing community located near Georgia Tech’s campus, will soon be recognized nationally as the recipient of Multifamily Executive’s “2023 Student Project of the Year.” The 750-bed project, designed by Atlanta-based Niles Bolton Associates and developed by Birmingham-based Capstone Communities, will be honored at the Multifamily Executive Conference in Dallas on September 26-28.
Inspire Atlanta is the closest off-campus student housing community near Georgia Tech’s campus and has remained 100% leased since opening in August 2021. Competing with nearly 240 nominations, Inspire Atlanta’s endless amenities, innovative design and high resident satisfaction helped secure the grand prize for the student housing development.
To protect views of downtown Atlanta from Georgia Tech’s historic Tech Tower and other surrounding buildings, Niles Bolton Associates intentionally designed Inspire Atlanta with a split mid-rise and high-rise design featuring a glass and masonry façade to align with nearby architecture. Hoar Construction built and delivered this project in August 2021.
“Working closely with ownership and project stakeholders, the team implemented a split design that seamlessly blends into one cohesive project,” said Mohamed Mohsen, principal for Niles Bolton Associates. “The concept’s primary focus was to respect the existing urban fabric by carefully considering massing, proportion, and scale. To achieve a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic, we utilized a traditional material palette in tandem with modern design principles.”
Amenities include a rooftop pool, stunning 360-degree views of downtown Atlanta, a state-of-the-art fitness center, common areas complete with individual and group study spaces, outdoor courtyards with grills and fire pits, and much more.
